About Westside church of Christ - Pasco WA
Our History
As a Church, we were founded by Christ, himself as outlined in the New Testament. For there is but one church or body (Eph 2:16, 4:3). Those who are saved are added to the church (Acts 2:47). Christ is our savior, and tells the body how to be saved in Mark 16:16.
Our original Pasco, Washington congregation began in the late 1940s as weekly worship and study services at the homes of original members including Creed and Lorene Thomas, Luke and Jessie Thomas, and Norville and Mary Hubbell, and Barney and Florence Gower, among others.
In 1952 the founding members, with the help of many other talented members of the congregation constructed our first building at 1103 W. Sylvester in Pasco, and we became Church of Christ Pasco. Attendance grew. The immediate and extended families of our founding members, as well as their neighbors, friends, co-workers and others continued to join the church congregation until we outgrew our original location. In 1977, we moved our location to 7900 W. Court St. and rebranded as the Westside church of Christ, still in Pasco Washington.
Currently, Tony Woods holds the title and honor of "Preacher" in our congregation. He spends his time studying and preparing messages by using references from multiple scriptures, historical knowledge of the related times and cultures presenting in an expository style, each book of the Old and New Testament.
