Our belief is simple and based on God's word. We follow only the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ. We are His church, His disciples and we seek to exposit the truth and the life from His Holy Word to share with the world. We are an independent congregation not affiliated with any denomination or organization. Therefore we are non-denominational.
There are other church congregations and organizations who claim "Church of Christ" in their name such as, " Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, International Church of Christ or United Church of Christ." Our local church of Christ congregation is not affiliated with any of these.
Our mission is to share the love of God and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, and to serve our community with truth, compassion and grace. At Westside Church of Christ - Pasco, WA, we glorify God in all we do in worship and service by proclaiming, admonishing, teaching and encouraging others.
Our purpose is:
- To make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20a, Col. 1:28)
- To Glorify God (Eph 1:11-12) and reflect His character (2Cor. 6:14, 7:1)
- To encourage and build up the saints (1 Thess. 5:11, Eph. 2:19-20, Rom. 15:5)
The following list is in part the belief statements from our By-Laws:
We invite you to visit us to learn more about our beliefs, our faith and our congregation.

As a faith congregation, we were founded by Christ himself, as outlined in the New Testament. For there is but one church or body (Eph 2:16, 4:3). Those who are saved are added to the church (Acts 2:47). Christ is our savior and tells the body how to be saved in Mark 16:16.
Our original Pasco community congregation began in the late 1940s with weekly worship and study services held in the homes of our founding members, including Creed and Lorene Thomas, Luke and Jessie Thomas, Norville and Mary Hubbell, and Barney and Florence Gower, among others.
In 1952, the founding members, along with many other talented individuals from our congregation, constructed our first building at 1103 W. Sylvester in Pasco, officially becoming the Church of Christ Pasco. Attendance grew as the immediate and extended families of our founding members, along with their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and others, joined the congregation, and we outgrew our original location. In 1977, we moved to 7900 W. Court St. and rebranded as the Westside Church of Christ, still serving the Pasco community.
Currently, Tony Woods holds the title and honor of 'Preacher' in our congregation. He dedicates his time to studying and preparing messages that promote spiritual growth by using references from multiple scriptures, as well as historical knowledge of the related times and cultures, presenting in an expository style through each book of the Old and New Testament.
Join us online or in-person as we journey through the book of Colossians with Tony as he expounds upon biblical truths.
How do we stay grounded when the world feels like it’s shifting beneath our feet?
The Book of Hebrews was written to a community under immense pressure—believers tempted to drift away from their convictions when life got hard. Its message is a powerful "word of exhortation" designed to anchor our souls in a truth that cannot be moved.
As our Perfect Priest and once-for-all sacrifice, Jesus has given us the ability to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, knowing our Advocate (Christ) is both sympathetic to our struggles and sovereign over our storms.
Long Live the King
"Though many in the first century were looking for a political savior, the Gospel of Matthew introduces us to a different kind of King. By tracing His royal roots back to David, Matthew confirms Jesus as the promised Messiah who came to build an eternal kingdom.
This series explores that kingdom: a realm where mercy reigns, hearts are transformed, and faith leads us into a 'greater righteousness' than we ever imagined."
In this verse-by-verse exposition of the Book of Romans, we explore the unshakable foundation of the believer’s confidence: the righteousness of God revealed through Jesus Christ. This series isn't just a study of ancient doctrine; it is a deep dive into the Gospel's power to answer humanity’s greatest needs and secure a future that cannot be moved.
